Concepts in Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy

چکیده

Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) and related techniques are becoming widely used to measure molecular dynamics in a broad variety of specimens. These techniques provide important quantitative information on dynamics -such as diffusion coefficients, local concentration, binding reactions under equilibrium conditionswith high spatial and temporal resolutions. Also, they are minimal invasive since they work at very low concentrations of fluorescent molecules and do not require the use of high power lasers as Fluorescence Recovery After Photobleaching (FRAP) does, making them very attractive to studies in living specimens.

Fluorescence Lifetime Correlation Spectroscopy (FLCS): Concepts, Applications and Outlook

Fluorescence Lifetime Correlation Spectroscopy (FLCS) is a variant of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS), which uses differences in fluorescence intensity decays to separate contributions of different fluorophore populations to FCS signal. Besides which, FLCS is a powerful tool to improve quality of FCS data by removing noise and distortion caused by scattered excitation light, detecto...

Studies of Interaction between Propranolol and Human Serum Albumin in the Presence of DMMP by Molecular Spectroscopy and Molecular Dynamics Simulation

The interaction between propranolol (PROP) and human serum albumin (HSA) was studied in the presence of dimethyl methylphosphonate (DMMP). DMMP is usually considered as a simulant for chemical warfare agents (CWAs). For this purpose fluorescence quenching, resonance light scattering (RLS), synchronous, three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation were emplo...

In vitro study of drug-protein interaction using electronic absorption, fluorescence, and circular dichroism spectroscopy

In the near future, design of a new generation of drugs targeting proteins will be required. Considering the complex bond between the drug and protein, the structure and stability of the target protein should be considered. So far, a series of in vitro investigations have been conducted with the aim of predicting drug-biological medium interactions. In these studies, use of spectroscopic method...
